AP CM Naidu offers silk robes to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala

Tirumala, Sept 15 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday presented silk robes to Lord Venkateswara on behalf of the state government on the first day of Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavam on Tuesday evening, marking the 16th occasion on which he has offered the traditional pattu vastrams to the deity.

Naidu, accompanied by his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, his wife N Brahmani and other family members, arrived at the Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple in traditional attire.

After the customary ceremony, he carried the silk robes on his head through the Mahadwaram to the hill temple amid Vedic chants and Nadaswaram music and later handed them over to the chief priest inside the sanctum sanctorum.

After darshan, Vedic pundits blessed Naidu at the Sri Ranganayakula Mandapam and presented him with prasadam and a portrait of the deity.

He also released the TTD diary and calendar for 2027.

Speaking after the darshan, Naidu said it was his good fortune to offer the silk robes to Lord Venkateswara on behalf of the state government.

He prayed for good rainfall in Andhra Pradesh and for India to emerge as a leading nation. He also wished for Andhra Pradesh to become the best-performing state in the country and for its people to enjoy good health, happiness and prosperity.

Naidu said devotees across the world had immense faith in Lord Venkateswara and congratulated the TTD governing board and officials for the management of the Srivari temple.

TTD Chairman B R Naidu, Executive Officer Ravichandra, Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, Endowments Minister Ramnarayana Reddy, board members and other officials were present.
