AP CM Naidu Directs Expeditious Completion of Amaravati Bank Street
Amaravati, June 19(TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday directed officials to expedite the development of Bank Street in Amaravati and ensure timely approvals for the construction of bank headquarters in the capital city.
Chairing a meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), Naidu instructed officials to extend all necessary support for establishing bank offices in the Financial District.
Officials informed the meeting that 13 banks have expressed interest in setting up offices on Bank Street, while 11 of them have entrusted construction of their buildings to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).
The Chief Minister asked officials to ensure close coordination among all stakeholders so that construction activities are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Emphasising the need for world-class infrastructure, Naidu directed officials to accord priority to digital infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted telephone, cable and internet connectivity across the capital city.
He also suggested exploring the development of digital infrastructure through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Stating that Amaravati should emerge as a highly livable and affordable city, he suggested promoting piped gas connections, induction cooking systems and modern urban utilities such as district cooling systems to reduce living costs for residents.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need for extensive beautification works across the capital region.
Highlighting the tourism potential of the Krishna riverfront, Naidu suggested maintaining water availability throughout the year up to Vaikunthapuram, upstream of the Prakasam Barrage.
He said the initiative could create opportunities for tourism activities, including water sports, swimming and other recreational facilities.
The CRDA meeting reviewed the progress of several projects, including Krishna river embankment works, development of Land Pooling Scheme layouts in Undavalli village, construction of a parking complex, establishment of the Judicial Academy and compensation issues related to poultry farm structures affected by development activities.
