Tirupati:: Sri Venugopalaswamy Teppotsavams begin at Karvetinagaram
Tirupati, Aug 25 (TNT): The annual Teppotsavams of Sri Venugopalaswamy, along with Sri Rukmini and Satyabhama, began at Karvetinagaram on Tuesday with a large number of devotees participating in the festivities.
As part of the celebrations, Snapanam Tirumanjanam was performed for the processional deities of Sri Sita, Lakshmana and Sri Kodandarama Swamy between 9 am and 10 am as per Agama traditions.
The deities were given a sacred bath with milk, curd, honey, turmeric and sandalwood before being adorned with special decorations.
A grand street procession was held at 5.30 pm, during which devotees gathered in large numbers to seek the blessings of the deities.
Later, at 7.30 pm, Sri Sita, Lakshmana and Sri Kodandarama Swamy took a divine ride on the float at Skanda Pushkarini, attracting a large gathering of devotees.
Devotional and spiritual music programmes were also organised as part of the celebrations by the TTD Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad and Annamacharya Project.
Temple Deputy EO Nagaratna, Superintendent Srinivasulu Reddy, Temple Inspector Veeraswamy, priests, temple staff and devotees participated in the celebrations.
