AP CM Calls for AI-Driven Revenue Monitoring, Monthly Economic Reports to Boost GSDP Growth

Amaravati, June 9 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday directed officials to leverage technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen GST and other tax collections, improve revenue administration and accelerate economic growth in the state.

Reviewing Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for 2026-27 at his camp office, the Chief Minister instructed officials to prepare monthly economic reports to monitor the state’s economic performance and progress towards growth targets.

Naidu said periodic economic assessments at the state, district and mandal levels would help track development through monthly, quarterly and half-yearly statistical indicators and facilitate timely policy interventions.

He emphasised the need to improve indicators that remain below the national average and align them with the performance benchmarks of leading states. He also called for the adoption of a performance-scoring mechanism that measures not only target achievement but also actual growth outcomes.

Highlighting the importance of infrastructure-led development, the Chief Minister said every rupee invested in infrastructure could generate up to 3.5 times economic activity and contribute significantly to overall economic expansion.

To strengthen data-driven governance, Naidu directed officials to establish an AI-powered task force for real-time monitoring of economic developments and policy implementation in line with the State Government’s Swarna Andhra 2047 vision.

He stressed the need to enhance Gross Value Addition (GVA) across sectors and called for focused efforts to maximise the economic potential of manufacturing, mining, trade and transportation.

The Chief Minister said major projects such as Amaravati, Polavaram, ports and airports should be leveraged to create a strong multiplier effect on the state’s economy and drive sustainable growth.

As part of efforts to strengthen administrative capacity, Naidu directed officials to organise a state-level workshop for government officers and employees on July 2 and 3.

Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad and senior officials from various departments attended the review meeting.
