Anant Ambani Offers Prayers at Tirumala; Reliance to Donate 25 Electric Buses Worth Rs 27.5 Cr to TTD
Tirumala, June 28 (TNT) : Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL), on Sunday offered prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala and announced that the company would donate 25 electric buses worth ₹27.5 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for eco-friendly transportation of pilgrims.
Anant Ambani participated in the Suprabhata Seva in the early hours of Sunday and also performed the traditional tonsure (mundan), offering his hair to Lord Venkateswara as a mark of devotion.
During his visit, he announced that Reliance Industries would provide 25 electric buses valued at ₹27.5 crore to TTD. The company will also bear the salaries and other allowances of 50 drivers required to operate the buses.
In addition, Reliance Industries will assist TTD in establishing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to ensure the smooth operation of the electric bus fleet.
Temple priests accorded Anant Ambani a traditional welcome with Vedic blessings and presented him with Theertha Prasadam after darshan.
This is Anant Ambani’s second visit to the hill shrine this month.
On June 12, he had visited the temple along with his father , Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Industries.
Anant Ambani’s wife, Radhika Merchant, was also present.
