Air India Express to Launch First Intl Flights from Navi Mumbai Airport with Abu Dhabi Service
New Delhi, June 21(TNT): Air India Express, a Tata Enterprise, operating over 500 daily flights, on Sunday announced the launch of direct flights between Navi Mumbai International Airport and Abu Dhabi, becoming the first airline to operate international services from Maharashtra’s newest airport.
The new route will provide travellers across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with an additional gateway to the United Arab Emirates, enhancing connectivity, convenience and travel options, the airlines said in a release here.
The airline said services on the route will commence from July 15 with an initial frequency of two flights a week.
The frequency will be increased to three weekly services from July 29.
Bookings for the flights are now open through the airline’s website, mobile application and other major booking platforms.
Under the schedule effective from July 15, flights will operate on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Abu Dhabi–Navi Mumbai service will depart at 5.45 a.m. and arrive at 10.20 a.m., while the return flight from Navi Mumbai will depart at 2.55 a.m. and reach Abu Dhabi at 4.35 a.m.
From July 29, the services will also operate on Sundays, taking the frequency to three flights a week.
With the launch of the Abu Dhabi service, Air India Express will operate 30 weekly flights from Navi Mumbai, connecting the airport with Abu Dhabi, Bengaluru and Delhi.
The airline has also been expanding its footprint in Maharashtra and currently operates more than 95 weekly flights from Mumbai, over 100 weekly flights from Pune and 14 weekly flights from Nagpur.
Air India Express operates one of the largest India-West Asia networks, connecting multiple Indian cities with destinations across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The announcement comes as the airline continues to strengthen its domestic and international network under its recently launched “Xpress Wali Baat Hai” campaign featuring actor Pankaj Tripathi, highlighting the carrier’s onboard services, hospitality and growing connectivity.
