Active Green Products targets Rs 250-Crore turnover, plans expansion to 15 showrooms
Hyderabad, Aug 18 (TNT): Active Green Products Pvt. Ltd., popularly known as Active.in, is targeting a turnover of Rs 250 crore in the current financial year and is expanding its manufacturing and retail footprint as part of its long-term plan to become a Rs 1,000-crore business.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Active Green Products CEO and Director Pothuraju Srilakshmi Narasimha Rao said the company recorded a turnover of Rs 187 crore in the last financial year and has been growing at around 30 per cent annually.
The company currently operates four showrooms and plans to add 11 more over the next one to two years, taking the total to 15, he said the expansion is expected to help the company accelerate growth by increasing its presence mainly South India markets and expanding its workforce.
“Now, all the business is coming from only four showrooms. Now, we wanted to have 15 showrooms and we will have more employees there. Then the growth will come in multiple,” he said.
Active.in currently has more than 400 employees and expects its workforce to increase to around 700 over the next two years as the company expands its manufacturing and showroom network, he informed.
The company is also strengthening its manufacturing infrastructure. Its first manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, which was initially used for manufacturing uPVC windows, is now being converted into a dedicated powder-coating facility. The powder-coating operations are expected to commence from the first week of September, he said.
The Pashamylaram facility, outskirts of Hyderabad, manufactures Active-branded windows, doors, façades and skylights. The plant has a capacity of around one lakh square feet per month and is currently operating at about 75 per cent utilisation, Rao said the existing capacity would be sufficient to meet the company’s requirements for the next one to two years.
The company’s another Sultanpur facility, outskirts of Hyderabad, spread across 3.5 acres with a built-up area of around 1.30 lakh square feet, is its third manufacturing facility. Around 15,000 square feet of the facility has been developed as an experience centre, he said.
The Sultanpur unit manufactures Schüco German windows and façades, Lothran curtain tracks, and Renson Belgium screens and fresh-air systems. The facility has a production capacity of around two lakh square feet per month per shift and is currently producing around one lakh square feet per month. The facility has been fully operational for the past two years, he said.
The company is also setting up its fourth manufacturing facility in Karnataka, he said machinery installation is currently underway and production is expected to commence by November 2026.
The facility will initially begin with around 25 employees, with manpower and infrastructure to be expanded gradually based on project orders, he said.
Rao said the company was adopting a phased approach to expansion in Karnataka, similar to its approach in Hyderabad.
The company is also planning another facility for glass processing near Sangareddy in Telangana, he said.
Overall, Active Green Products has invested close to Rs 100 crore across its existing and upcoming manufacturing facilities. The company expects to invest another Rs 70-80 crore over the next two to three years as part of its phased expansion, he said
Rao said the company’s products are manufactured in India, while hardware is imported from Germany. “Technology-wise, it is all German-engineered and German-made,” he said.
On the impact of the ongoing global conflicts on raw material prices, Rao said aluminium prices had increased significantly, from around Rs 260 per kg about nine months ago to Rs 360-370 per kg currently.
“War effect is there for everybody. Transport and development, all sectors are affected,” he said, adding that prices of metals such as copper and gold had also witnessed significant increases.
Currently, the company producing 10 products, he said the company plans to expand its presence across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Goa and Bhubaneswar by opening new franchise outlets over the next 12-18 months.
The company said its expansion would strengthen its presence across residential, commercial and infrastructure markets and create a larger regional ecosystem backed by manufacturing, technology and service capabilities.
With the expansion of its manufacturing facilities, showrooms and workforce, Active.in is aiming to scale up operations and work towards its long-term vision of becoming a Rs 1,000-crore business, he added.
