AGI Greenpac Board Recommends Shashvat Somany’s Appointment as Joint Managing Director
New Delhi, July 29 (TNT): AGI Greenpac Ltd, India’s packaging products company and a leading glass packaging manufacturer, on Wednesday announced that its Board has recommended the appointment of Shashvat Somany as Joint Managing Director (JMD) for a five-year term effective October 1, 2026, subject to shareholders’ approval.
Shashvat Somany currently serves as the company’s Head of Strategy and has led several strategic and transformation initiatives across the Group’s businesses, the company said in a release here.
He also founded SIG Tattva, the company’s corporate venture capital platform focused on deep-tech innovation, sustainability-driven clean technologies and enterprise SaaS solutions.
An MBA in Technology and Analytics from London Business School, Somany also holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Before joining AGI Greenpac, he worked with Deloitte Consulting, advising clients across the consumer, industrial and telecommunications sectors.
In his new role, Somany will work alongside Chairman and Managing Director Sandip Somany, overseeing the company’s operations and manufacturing expansion across its container glass, specialty glass, PET bottles, security caps and closures businesses, as well as its recently launched aluminium cans business.
Expressing gratitude for the recommendation, Shashvat Somany said the company is at a defining stage as it diversifies into aluminium cans, expands its geographical footprint and enhances manufacturing capacity.
He said AGI Greenpac aims to become an integrated packaging partner for leading brands through innovation and operational excellence.
