Silk garments from Srirangam offered to Lord Venkateswara on Anivara Asthanam at Tirumala
Tirumala, July 17 (TNT): Silk garments from the famed Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam in Tamil Nadu were ceremonially offered to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on the occasion of Anivara Asthanam on Friday.
The silk garments were first taken to the Pedda Jeeyar Swamy Mutt, located near the Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy Temple, where special prayers were performed.
Later, Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra, Tamil Nadu Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Ramesh and Commissioner Vinay, led a traditional procession carrying the silk garments to the Sri Venkateswara Temple amid Vedic chanting and Mangala Vaidyams.
The silk garments were subsequently offered to the presiding deity as part of the Anivara Asthanam rituals.
TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, Tamil Nadu HR&CE Joint Commissioner Ravichandra, Srirangam Temple Executive Officer Shivaram Kumar, Chief Priest Sundara Bhattar and other officials were present on the occasion.
