No Covid cases in Kakinada district: clarifies DMHO

Kakinada, July 17 (TNT):  District Medical and Health officer Dr K .Anitha on Friday clarified that covid cases were not reported from anywhere in the district so far  and people need not have any apprehensions over the situation.

Clarifying the situation regarding a sixteen year old girl from Gollaprolu reported Covid positive while undergoing treatment at CMC hospital Chennai last week, the DMHO said the girl was a chronic patient suffering from multiple health disorders for the past several years and received treatment in prominent hospitals in Kakinada and Visakhapatnam.

She underwent surgery during November last year for treatment of Spleen.

Later during last week she went to Chennai CMC hospital for better treatment where during the medical tests she was found Covid positive along with other diseases.

Later she died and the CMC doctors confirmed that she died of anemia and ` septic shock multi organ dysfunction Syndrome   disseminated intravascular Coagulation ‘, the DMHO remarked.

Dr Anitha further clarified that in Kakinada district not even a single case with Covid symptoms was reported so far.

However the district administration was on full alert and people need not have any concern, she added.

As a part of the Covid prevention measures , special wards were arranged in Kakinada GGH and Tuni area hospital with adequate  doctors and medical staff along with Oxygen stocks and medicines.

If any one with suspected Covid symptoms they could approach the doctors and undergo the medical tests and treatment’ the DMHO added
