SSSIHL begins construction of women’s hostel at AP’s Anantapur campus
Anantapur, July 16 (TNT): The Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) on Thursday commenced construction of a new women’s hostel at its Anantapur campus, which will accommodate nearly 1,500 students upon completion.
The foundation stone was laid by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust Managing Trustee R.J. Rathnakar and SSSIHL Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. Raghavendra Prasad in the presence of Danesh Gadhia and Sanjay Gadhia, family members of late Dr. Kishan Gadhia, along with institute officials, faculty members, students and other dignitaries.
Spread over a built-up area of more than 1.5 lakh sq. ft., the hostel will be developed in phases and will provide modern residential facilities while preserving the institute’s spiritual and disciplined campus environment.
The institute said the project is aimed at strengthening its residential infrastructure and supporting its value-based education model that combines academic excellence with character development.
Established in 1968, the Anantapur campus is the women’s campus of SSSIHL and has been imparting higher education with an emphasis on human values for nearly six decades.
On the occasion, a renovated guest house for visiting faculty members, scholars and guests was also inaugurated to enhance facilities for academic and research activities.
According to the institute, the hostel project reflects the vision of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to empower women through holistic education and develop socially responsible leaders grounded in human values.
