Shailesh Vagerwal Assumes Charge as CMD of Bharat Dynamics Ltd
Hyderabad, July 9 (TNT): Shailesh Vagerwal on Thursday assumed charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of state-run defence manufacturer Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).
An officer of the Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS), Vagerwal brings nearly three decades of experience in the defence manufacturing sector, a defence release said here.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur, and a Master’s degree in Explosive Ordnance Engineering from Cranfield University, United Kingdom.
During his career, Vagerwal has served in key positions at Ordnance Factory Dum Dum, Ordnance Factory Itarsi, Ordnance Factory Khamaria and Munitions India Limited, where he handled a wide range of responsibilities in defence production and management.
He has expertise in ammunition and explosives manufacturing, strategic planning, quality assurance, material management, project management, procurement, research and development, exports, business development, human resource management and industrial relations.
Prior to assuming charge at BDL, Vagerwal was serving as Chief General Manager at Ordnance Factory Khamaria, Jabalpur, a unit of Munitions India Limited.
