MEIL, Analog Unveil Physical Intelligence Vision; Plan to Invest $300–500 Million Over Next 3–4 Years
Hyderabad, July 1 (TNT): MEIL (Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited) and Abu Dhabi-based Analog on Wednesday unveiled their vision for deploying Physical Intelligence across India, announcing plans to invest $300–500 million over the next three to four years through a 50:50 joint venture.
The proposed investment will support the deployment of next-generation AI-powered infrastructure solutions across sectors including mobility, energy, industrial operations, public safety, education, healthcare and smart cities.
Addressing a press conference, MEIL Managing Director P.V. Krishna Reddy said the joint venture would function as an independent company with its own branding and governance structure.
He said the partners plan to establish a technology hub in Hyderabad, with a pilot project already underway near the Telangana Secretariat.
The proposed facility will develop Physical Intelligence applications for traffic management, power distribution and other infrastructure sectors.
A pilot project aims to improve Hyderabad’s average traffic speed from around 23-24 kmph to 30-31 kmph without creating additional road infrastructure, while similar technologies will be deployed to reduce transmission losses in the power sector.
Krishna Reddy said the venture would also support MEIL’s expansion into electric vehicle manufacturing and battery cell production through robotics, automation and AI-enabled manufacturing systems.
He said MEIL currently operates electric bus manufacturing and services, owns nearly 6 GW of thermal and solar power capacity and manages infrastructure projects spanning about 2,000 km. The company has an order book of around ₹2.5 lakh crore, executable over the next four years, with annual revenues of ₹55,000–60,000 crore.
The MEIL chief said discussions are underway with global technology partners for battery cell and electric vehicle manufacturing, adding that no agreement has been finalised with any Chinese company.
Analog Founder and CEO Alex Kipman said Hyderabad, with a population of about 13 million, presents a significantly more complex deployment environment than the company’s existing projects in the United Arab Emirates.
He said Analog’s Physical Intelligence platform, comprising Hive, ANA and a proprietary World Model, is already deployed across critical infrastructure in the UAE, including data centres where predictive AI enables preventive maintenance and nuclear facilities where robotic systems carry out inspection and monitoring in hazardous environments.
Kipman said the India venture would customise these technologies for local applications in EV bus operations, refinery management, irrigation systems, water infrastructure, industrial automation and smart city traffic management, with Hyderabad serving as the primary innovation and deployment centre.
