Kakinada: AITUC flays PM Modi for anti-labour policies

Kakinada  June 26 (TNT): AITUC state general secretary S Venkata Subbaiah on Friday  criticized the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged anti-labour policies  and called for saving the constitution by  dislodging him.

Addressing a press conference here, he also blamed the deputy Chief Minister Pawan kalyan for going back on his election eve promise of donating Rs.1 Crore from his personal funds to the building construction workers.

He announced a phased agitation under the leadership of AITUC against the anti labour and dictatorial policies of both state and  central governments.

He also demanded Rs.1 crore compensation to the workers who lost their lives in the Visakhapatnam steel plant explosion  and said statewide protests would be staged on July 3 by all trade unions in support of the demand .

While all democratic and progressive people were agitating for protecting the Indian constitution and constitutional rights, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was trying to destroy the Indian constitution and keeping silent when  the Adivasis, Girijans, dalits and minorities were facing onslaughts of all kinds,he alleged.

The AITUC leader has further blamed both the state and central governments for the conspiracy to  remove the eligible voters from the electoral rolls in the name of SIR.

Already as many as 6.5 Crore voters were removed from voters list in eighteen states .The BJP’s aim was to remove a total 20 crores of voters by the time the SIR exercise completes. The BJP’s efforts were aimed at coming to power in all states by removal of voters who were against it’ he added.

He also alleged that the BJP led NDA was trying to  privatize the APSRTC and the AITUC would resist it tooth and nail.

AITUC state vice president Thatipaka Madhu has called the farmers to attend in large numbers ` the Chalo Vijayawada stir ‘planned for June 30.

AITUC district General secretary Thokala Prasad, Senior trade union leader K Adinarayana murthy, AITUC district president  Kasimkota Kishore Kumar, Working president  Bobbili Srinivasarao were among those attended.
