New Delhi, Feb 9 (TNT): In a major boost to healthcare access for state employees and journalists, the Telangana Government has accelerated the implementation of the Employees & Journalists Health Scheme (EJHS) in Delhi, with Apollo Hospitals coming on board to provide cashless treatment facilities.
Acting on the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, and with sustained follow-up by A. P. Jithender Reddy, Special Representative & Advisor to the Telangana Government, a high-level convergence meeting was held at Telangana Bhavan here on Monday.
The meeting, chaired by Gaurav Uppal, Secretary (Coordination), Government of Telangana, was conducted with the management of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital to discuss empanelment under the Rajiv Aarogyasri Health Care Trust.
The Trust’s agreement was formally accepted by Apollo Hospitals, marking a key milestone in extending EJHS cashless treatment benefits to eligible beneficiaries in the national capital.
Representatives from Apollo Hospitals, officials of the Rajiv Aarogyasri Health Care Trust, the Journalists Health Scheme (JHS), and the Resident Commissioner’s office participated in the deliberations.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Government has already completed empanelment of all Max Healthcare group hospitals in Delhi, including BLK–MAX Super Speciality Hospital.
Journalists and other eligible beneficiaries are expected to start availing treatment facilities at these hospitals within the next 10 days, as website integration and technical formalities are currently underway.
The state government is also actively pursuing the empanelment of more leading hospitals in Delhi to further widen access to quality healthcare, with the process being closely monitored through regular reviews by the Resident Commissioner and the Secretary (Coordination).
