Telangana Governor extends greetings to People on Occasion of Muharram

Hyderabad, June 25 (TNT): Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Thursday extended greetings to the people on the casion of Muharram, to be observed on June 26.

In a message, the Governor said Muharram symbolizes the spirit of sacrifice, one of the highest virtues of mankind.

The Governor noted that Muharram commemorates the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet, who laid down his life in the pursuit of truth and faith.

“The essence of Muharram lies in remembering goodness and sacrifice,” the Governor said.

Calling upon people to emulate the values associated with the occasion, the Governor said the spirit of Muharram embodies humanism, which occupies a central place in Islam.

Expressing hope that the ideals of sacrifice, peace and justice would continue to inspire society, the Governor conveyed best wishes to all on the occasion.
