Telangana Police to Launch Anti-Drug Awareness Week from June 22

Hyderabad, June 21(TNT): The Telangana Police’s EAGLE Force (Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement) will launch Anti-Drug Awareness Week 2026 on Monday as part of activities marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Director General of Police C. V. Anand will attend the event as the chief guest and address the gathering on the importance of collective action in preventing drug abuse.

He is also expected to unveil various initiatives planned under the Anti-Drug Awareness Week campaign.

As part of the programme, an exhibition featuring stalls from multiple government departments and agencies will be organised from June 22 to June 24.

Participating organisations include the EAGLE Force, Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, Traffic and Road Safety Wing, Women and Child Safety Wing/She Teams, Bharosa Centre, Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens and Transgender Persons, Institute of Mental Health, addiction treatment facilities, New Hope Association de-addiction centre, and the Weapons and Dog Squad of Hyderabad City Police.

The stalls will showcase initiatives, services and support systems related to drug prevention, public safety, skill development, rehabilitation and law enforcement.

The exhibition is also aimed at educating students and other stakeholders on the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of building a safer, healthier and drug-free society.

Officials said the awareness week is intended to strengthen public participation in anti-drug initiatives and promote greater awareness about prevention, rehabilitation and enforcement efforts across Telangana.
