Dial-112 Team Rescues Woman from Suicide Attempt in Jagtial, Telangana
Hyderabad, June 18 (TNT): The Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC) facilitated the rescue of a woman who allegedly attempted suicide in Jagtial district through swift coordination under the Dial-112 Emergency Response Support System (ERSS).
According to an official release, a distress call was received at the Dial-112 Call Centre at 12.23 pm on Thursday regarding a woman attempting to take her own life at a canal under the jurisdiction of Metpalli Police Station in Jagtial district.
Recognising the seriousness of the situation, the Dial-112 team alerted the Station House Officer (SHO) of Metpalli Police Station within a minute and maintained continuous follow-up to ensure a prompt response.
Acting on the information, the SHO immediately dispatched police personnel to the spot. The woman was traced and rescued safely within 15 minutes owing to the quick response of the local police and effective coordination by the Dial-112 team.
The rescued woman was shifted to the police station, where she was provided counselling and necessary support, the release said.
The SHO later informed Dial-112 officials about the successful rescue operation and appreciated the centre’s prompt communication, continuous monitoring and coordination, which contributed significantly to saving a life.
The incident highlights the effectiveness of the Dial-112 Emergency Response Support System and the commitment of Telangana Police to providing timely assistance during emergencies and ensuring public safety across the state, the release added.
