Kakinada Collector Makes Surprise Visit to Jaggampeta Hospital
Kakinada, June 17 (TNT): District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the Community Health Centre at Jaggampeta to assess the quality of healthcare services being provided to patients.
The unexpected inspection took doctors and hospital staff by surprise, prompting them to immediately attend to their duties.
The Collector inspected various wards and interacted with in-patients to gather firsthand information on the medical services and facilities available at the hospital.
Later, he held discussions with Hospital Superintendent Dr. Praneeth, doctors and staff regarding healthcare delivery and measures to improve patient care.
Harendhira Prasad instructed the medical personnel to ensure efficient and quality treatment for all patients and stressed the need for improving healthcare services in line with government objectives.
Responding to requests from women, particularly pregnant women, regarding transportation difficulties, the Collector assured that he would take up the matter with RTC authorities to arrange a request-stop facility near the hospital.
He also assured that a freezer box would be provided for the post-mortem room and that efforts would be made to ensure round-the-clock availability of 108 ambulance services to handle emergencies.
Addressing concerns over staff shortages, the Collector said recruitment of additional staff nurses would be taken up shortly to strengthen healthcare services at the hospital.
He urged medical officers and staff to work towards providing faster and more effective treatment to the public and assured continued support from the district administration for improving healthcare infrastructure and services.
