Discipline and Teamwork are Singareni’s Biggest Strengths, Says CMD Buddhaprakash
Ramagundam, May 29 (TNT): Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SSCL) Chairman and Managing Director , Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti, on Friday said employee welfare and safety are given equal priority along with production growth, describing discipline and teamwork as the organisation’s greatest strengths.
During an extensive tour of the Ramagundam-1 Area, the CMD reviewed coal production, productivity, employee welfare measures, safety standards and various facilities provided by the company.
At GDK-11 Incline, he interacted with employees, officers and workers and sought their suggestions for the development of the company, the mining comp0any said in a release here.
Discussions focused on enhancing coal production, improving productivity and quality, and future plans of the organisation.
Stating that Singareni’s rich experience, disciplined work culture and collective spirit have made it a unique organisation, Dr. Buddhaprakash said employee welfare and workplace safety would continue to receive the same importance as production targets.
The CMD inaugurated the fifth Man Riding System established in the mine and said the facility would enable employees to travel safely and comfortably between the surface and underground workplaces while reducing physical strain.
He also felicitated employees who contributed to the installation of the Man Riding System and other developmental works.
Director (Operations) L. V. Suryanarayana said GDK-11 is the second-largest mine in Singareni in terms of productivity and mechanisation.
He advised officials to make effective use of modern machinery to reduce operational costs while achieving production targets.
Director (Projects and Planning) K. Venkateswarlu called for collective efforts to bring the mine into a zero-loss position and make it a profitable unit.
He said the project should aim to increase production from the present one million tonnes to 1.5 million tonnes in the future.
Later, the CMD visited GDK-5 Opencast Mine and reviewed coal and overburden production, transportation, machinery utilisation and productivity.
He directed officials to achieve targets while maintaining safety, efficiency and quality standards.
He also inspected sports and recreational facilities at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the Ramagundam-1 Area and stressed the importance of promoting sports activities for the well-being of employees and their families.
Subsequently, the CMD conducted a video conference with General Managers of all Singareni areas and reviewed coal production, productivity, safety, quality and cost-control measures.
He directed officials to work in coordination to achieve assigned production targets and contribute to the company’s overall growth.
Senior officials, union leaders and employees participated in the programme.
