TDP to Push Women Empowerment Narrative at Mahanadu-2026; Naidu Seeks Cadre Mobilisation Ahead of Key Political Event

Amaravati, May 21 (TNT): In a significant political move aimed at sharpening its welfare and women-centric agenda, the Telugu Desam Party on Thursday decided to organise Mahanadu-2026 with the theme of women empowerment while adopting 20 political and organisational resolutions during the party’s annual conclave.

The decision was taken at a virtual Politburo meeting chaired by TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who called for the event to be conducted “like a festival” with active participation from party cadres across all levels.

Political observers view the focus on women empowerment as part of the TDP’s broader strategy to consolidate women voters and reinforce the party’s welfare-oriented image ahead of future electoral battles.

The Politburo meeting, attended virtually by senior party leaders including TDP Working President Nara Lokesh, extensively discussed arrangements for Mahanadu scheduled to be held on May 27 and 28.

According to party sources, the conclave will feature 20 resolutions, including 10 related to Andhra Pradesh, four concerning Telangana, one linked to the Andaman region, four joint resolutions and a major concluding political resolution expected to target opposition parties and highlight the TDP-led government’s governance agenda.

Naidu directed party leaders to ensure that the women empowerment theme is prominently reflected in speeches, discussions and event presentations during Mahanadu.

He asked leaders to highlight the TDP’s historical initiatives for women’s welfare, political participation and economic empowerment, while also showcasing welfare schemes and programmes being implemented by the current government.

The Chief Minister also instructed leaders to discuss development projects, investments and governance reforms undertaken by the State government, indicating the party’s attempt to blend welfare messaging with its development narrative.

In another politically significant move, the Politburo decided to hold special sessions on the “Our Nation – Our Responsibility” savings campaign and expose what party leaders described as the “conspiracies and atrocities” of the opposition “axe party”, an apparent reference to the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party.

The party also plans to use Mahanadu to familiarise younger generations with the legacy and ideology of TDP founder N. T. Rama Rao through dedicated presentations and outreach programmes.

Although this year’s Mahanadu will be conducted in a hybrid format, Naidu stressed that the organisational spirit of the event should remain intact and directed cadres to hoist TDP flags on houses ahead of the conclave as part of a statewide mobilisation exercise.

The Politburo also resolved to install NTR statues in all party clusters during the Mahanadu celebrations, signalling an effort to reinforce the party’s ideological roots and emotional connect with cadres.
