Over 500 Police Personnel Participate in ‘Heartfulness’ Meditation Programme in Kakinada Dist.
Kakinada, May 21 (TNT): Police personnel across Kakinada district on Thursday participated in a three-day ‘Heartfulness’ meditation programme organised under the directions of Andhra Pradesh DGP Harish Kumar Gupta and in-charge SP Rahul Meena.
The district-level programme was conducted at the Kakinada police parade grounds under the supervision of Additional SP (AR) S. Srinivasa Rao and meditation gurus M. Satyanarayana Raju, Dr. Niharika and Dr. Sangita.
More than 300 police officers, staff members and Armed Reserve personnel participated in the meditation session at Kakinada. Among those who took part were Traffic CI N. Ramesh, Port CI P. Sunilkumar, Women Police Station Inspector Durgaprasad and Armed Reserve Inspector M. Narasimha Murty.
A similar meditation programme was organised at the Government Junior College grounds in Samalkot under the supervision of DSP A.B.G. Tilak and Armed Reserve DSP V.G. Sriharirao.
Yoga experts P. Suryanarayana, Kandrakota Krishna, Jyothi and Ramya guided the meditation and yoga sessions. Samalkot CI A. Krishna Bhagavan, Crime CI Ankababu, Jaggampeta CI Tirupatirao and police personnel from the Peddapuram sub-division also participated.
According to police officials, over 111 personnel from the Peddapuram sub-division attended the programme, during which participants practised pranayama and meditation exercises.
The yoga instructors explained the importance of yoga and meditation in reducing stress and improving mental well-being among police personnel.
The district police office said more than 500 police officers and personnel of various ranks participated in the meditation programme across the district.
