Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools signs Rs 500 Cr MoU with APEDB for Aerospace & Defence Facilit in AP

Puttaparthi (Andhra Pradesh), May 15 (TNT): Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools Pvt. Ltd. on Friday announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to establish a large-scale aerospace and defence manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh with a proposed investment of ₹500 crore.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here.

Under the proposed project, the company plans to establish an advanced manufacturing facility spread across 100 acres focused on precision manufacturing for the aerospace and defence sectors.

The project is expected to create around 1,000 direct employment opportunities and an additional 2,000 indirect jobs through ancillary industries, logistics, services and supply chain networks.

According to the company, the facility will focus on micro turbojet engine manufacturing, UAV manufacturing and integration, besides developing a dedicated UAV testing, evaluation and flight validation range.

The project aims to strengthen indigenous capabilities in propulsion systems, autonomous defence technologies, tactical unmanned platforms and export-oriented aerospace manufacturing, while supporting the growth of a domestic vendor ecosystem in precision machining, composites, avionics, defence electronics and advanced systems integration.

Speaking on the occasion, the company Managing Director Vamsi Vikas Ganesula said Andhra Pradesh offers strong industrial potential, progressive policy support and a strategic ecosystem for advanced manufacturing.

He said the investment would contribute to India’s vision of becoming a global hub for aerospace and defence production while generating large-scale employment opportunities and strengthening local industrial ecosystems.

As part of the agreement, APEDB will extend necessary support and coordination for the project, including assistance in facilitating investment discussions and industrial development initiatives.

The proposed facility is expected to further strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities in critical aerospace and defence components while supporting the Government of India’s “Make in India” and defence indigenisation initiatives.
