PM Modi Virtually Dedicates multiple Development Projects Worth Rs 9,377 Crore in Telangana Ahead of Secunderabad Public Meeting
Hyderabad, May 10 (TNT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually dedicated and laid foundation stones for multiple infrastructure and development projects worth Rs 9,377 crore in Telangana from the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) here on Sunday, ahead of his public meeting at the Parade Ground.
The projects, spanning highways, industrial corridors, railways, healthcare, textiles and energy infrastructure, are aimed at strengthening connectivity, improving logistics efficiency, enhancing passenger safety and accelerating economic growth in the state.
The Prime Minister arrived in Hyderabad after participating in the 45th anniversary celebrations of the The Art of Living Foundation in Bengaluru.
Among the major projects, Modi laid the foundation stone for the four-laning of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar on the Hyderabad–Panaji Economic Corridor at a cost of over Rs 3,175 crore.
The highway project is expected to ensure smooth and uninterrupted traffic movement, reduce travel time by nearly one-and-a-half hours and lower fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance costs.
It will also strengthen connectivity between Telangana and Karnataka while facilitating industrial growth in both states.
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district under the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor (HNIC), being developed as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
Spread across 3,245 acres and being developed at a cost of over Rs 2,350 crore, the industrial area is strategically located along NH-65 and is designed to provide seamless multimodal connectivity to major cities, ports, railway networks and airports.
Envisioned as a smart integrated industrial township, the project will support sectors including automobile manufacturing, food processing, machinery, metals and electrical equipment.
Officials said the project is expected to attract investments of nearly Rs 10,000 crore and generate substantial employment opportunities.
Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the PM MITRA Park at Warangal, also known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, developed under the PM MITRA Scheme.
Developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 1,700 crore, it is the country’s first fully functional PM MITRA Park and aims to operationalise the Centre’s 5F vision — Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.
Located near the proposed Nagpur–Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway and close to NH-163, the park offers multimodal connectivity to railway networks and seaports to facilitate global trade.
The textile park has been designed as a world-class industrial ecosystem with advanced infrastructure including internal road networks, dedicated power substations and assured water supply.
It also includes a Common Effluent Treatment Plant with Zero Liquid Discharge technology to promote sustainable industrial development.
The Prime Minister also dedicated railway infrastructure projects worth around Rs 1,535 crore, including multiple sections of the Kazipet–Vijayawada multi-tracking project covering 118 kilometres.
The railway expansion project is expected to improve line capacity on the busy Grand Trunk corridor, enabling faster train operations, reducing congestion, improving punctuality and boosting freight movement across the region.
Modi also dedicated the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass to the nation. The project is expected to decongest Kazipet Junction by facilitating simultaneous train movement towards Hyderabad, Balharshah and Vijayawada, thereby improving operational efficiency and reducing delays.
In the energy sector, the Prime Minister dedicated Indian Oil Corporation’s Malkapur Terminal Project in Hyderabad, developed at a cost of over Rs 600 crore.
The terminal has been established to augment petroleum product handling capacity and meet growing regional energy demand. It has a total tankage capacity of 1,65,000 kilolitres.
In the healthcare sector, Modi inaugurated Sindhu Hospital, a cancer-focused multi-super speciality quaternary care not-for-profit institution in Hyderabad.
Spread across 2.1 million square feet over 18 floors, the hospital has 1,500 beds, more than 150 consultation rooms and 29 advanced operation theatres.
