PM Modi Highlights India’s Spiritual Heritage at Art of Living’s 45th Anniversary Celebrations in Bengaluru
Bengaluru, May 10(TNT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the Art of Living Foundation’s contribution towards spreading India’s spiritual traditions across the world.
Addressing the 45th anniversary celebrations of the The Art of Living Foundation in the presence of spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Modi said the event, coinciding with Ravi Shankar’s 70th birthday celebrations, marked a memorable occasion.
“Welcomed by children singing Vedic chants, the sight of Lord Ganesha, 70 years of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and 45 years of the Art of Living—these are moments that will forever remain etched in my memory,” the Prime Minister said.
Modi expressed gratitude to the Art of Living family for inviting him to the celebrations and remarked that he shared a deep bond with the organisation and its followers.
Referring to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s remarks during the programme, Modi said, “I belong to you, I came among you and for you, and I am where I am because of you.”
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed Dhyan Mandir and said that sincere efforts carried out with a spirit of service always produce positive outcomes.
“When the resolve is clear and work is done with a spirit of service, every effort yields positive results,” he said while extending his wishes to the Art of Living family for the new meditation centre.
During his address, Modi praised Bengaluru for emerging not only as a global hub for software and services but also as a centre promoting India’s cultural identity and spiritual consciousness.
He said yoga, meditation and pranayama had always been integral to Indian culture and noted that India’s spiritual traditions were increasingly influencing people around the world.
“With this inspiration, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar planted the seed of The Art of Living 45 years ago. Today, it stands before us as a towering banyan tree,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister said the organisation had positively touched the lives of countless people across the globe and added that during his overseas visits he frequently encountered individuals associated with the Art of Living movement.
