Tirumala, May 1 (TNT): The 296th Jayanthi celebrations of Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba, an ardent devotee of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, was held in a grand manner on Thursday evening at the Padmavathi Parinaya Mandapam in Narayanagiri Gardens, Tirumala.
Sri Malayappa Swamy, along with Sridevi and Bhudevi, was taken on a procession through the Mada streets of Tirumala to the venue.
Artists from TTD Annamacharya Project and SV College of Music and Dance presented devotional group singing, rendering compositions written by Vengamamba.
On this occasion, Pushpagiri Peethadhipathi Sri Vidya Shankara Bharati Swamiji delivered a spiritual discourse.
He stated that the Jeeva Samadhi of Vengamamba was a divine phenomenon, where the soul unites with the Supreme while the body still exists.
Temple Dy EO Lokanatham, Tirupati Estate Officer Ms. Suvarnamma, other officials, and a large number of devotees participated in the event.
Floral Tributes paid
TTD officials and descendants of Vengamamba offered floral tributes at Vengamamba Brindavanam in Tirumala on Thursday evening.
