Ballipadu/Paidiparu (W. Godavari Dist, Andhra Pradesh), Apr 3 (TNT): As part of World Homoeopathy Awareness Week, ASR Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, in collaboration with Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust, conducted outreach camps in Ballipadu and Paidiparu villages on Friday under its ‘Project Health Tadepalligudem’ initiative.
The third day of the mission focused on promoting homoeopathy as an eco-friendly “green medicine” while offering free medical services and advanced diagnostic screenings to rural residents.
Addressing the camp at Ballipadu, Dr. Ananda Kumar Pingali, Principal of ASR Homoeopathic Medical College, said homoeopathy is an evolving and precise science with expanding applications beyond human health, including benefits for plants and animals. He stressed that its effectiveness depends on proper practice and urged people to consult qualified practitioners.
Student interns and first-year students actively participated in awareness drives, engaging in door-to-door campaigns to educate villagers on the preventive and therapeutic benefits of homoeopathy. The initiative, aligned with efforts of the National Commission for Homoeopathy, also provided students with hands-on community exposure.
The camps offered free screenings for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and thyroid disorders. Advanced tests including HbA1c, lipid profile and thyroid profile were conducted for patients requiring further evaluation.
Specialist teams led by Dr. Ananda Kumar Pingali, Prof. Dr. Kadali Srinivas and Dr. Meenakshi Das provided services at Ballipadu, while consultations at Paidiparu were led by Dr. G.V. Kirnamayi.
Volunteers from the Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust coordinated logistics to ensure healthcare services reached vulnerable sections of the rural population.
