Vijayawada, Mar 22 (TNT): CPI national leader Dr K Narayana on Sunday voiced concern over the fallout of global conflicts, alleging that corporate interests are fuelling wars and deepening economic distress.
Addressing a press conference, Narayana said rising petrol, diesel and LPG prices are placing a heavy burden on people, with transport and essential sectors already under strain.
He warned of possible gas shortages affecting hotels, restaurants and small businesses, with cascading impact on workers and livelihoods.
Criticising the Centre’s approach, Narayana urged stronger diplomatic intervention and called on Indian leadership to play a proactive role in de-escalation.
He announced a protest under the banner “No War” to be held in Hyderabad on March 29, appealing for participation from all political parties and civil society groups.
Raising other issues, he said individuals facing allegations should not be appointed to key positions in temple bodies.
While welcoming development initiatives in Amaravati, he opposed entrusting projects to corporate entities, insisting they be executed under government oversight.
CPI leaders also demanded immediate implementation of poll promises, including allocation of house sites for the poor and financial support for housing construction, along with completion of pending housing projects.
