Futuristic Budget to Drive Telangana Rising Vision,’ Says CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, Mar 20 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday described the 2026–27 State Budget as a “futuristic budget,” stating that it balances development and welfare while aligning with the state’s long-term growth vision.

Speaking during an informal interaction in the Assembly, Revanth Reddy said the budget ensures equitable allocation of resources across sectors and social groups, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure to support future economic expansion.

He said the budget provides a major thrust to the government’s “Telangana Rising Vision,” aimed at accelerating the state’s growth trajectory.

Highlighting a key initiative, Revanth Reddy said the government has introduced the ‘Indiramma Family Life Insurance Scheme’, a first-of-its-kind programme in the country, offering ₹5 lakh insurance coverage to every family in the state. The scheme is expected to benefit around 1.15 crore families.

The Chief Minister said substantial allocations have been made for reforms in the education sector and strengthening public healthcare.

He added that the state will align its policies with the National Education Policy and introduce structural changes in the education system.

He said the government is implementing a model where students can pursue education from pre-primary to Class 12 within a single government school campus.

On the financial front, Revanth Reddy said the government has maintained transparency in borrowings and revenue management. Since assuming office, loans amounting to ₹3.47 lakh crore have been raised, of which ₹3.30 lakh crore has been utilised towards repayment of past debts and interest liabilities.

He added that the government is taking steps to plug revenue leakages across departments to enhance income, while also making efforts to secure due funds from the Centre.
