Nandigaruvu (Alluri Sitarama Raju district), Mar 14 (TNT): Jana Sena Party Chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Saturday said the coalition government is committed to resolving people’s problems and ensuring balanced development, particularly in remote tribal areas.
Participating in the “Maata–Manthi” interaction programme with tribal communities at Nandigaruvu village in Paderu constituency held on the occasion of party’s foundation day , Pawan Kalyan said the government remains accessible to the public and is determined to address their grievances promptly.
“Our government is a people-friendly one. We are always ready to listen to your difficulties and solve your problems so that tears do not reach your doorstep,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister alleged that diversion of funds during the previous government had led to the backwardness of agency areas.
He claimed that around ₹4,000 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission had been misused earlier, adding that the present government is taking steps to correct the situation.
Highlighting development initiatives, Pawan Kalyan said that within 18 months of coming to power the government had constructed about 460 kilometres of roads in tribal villages, including a road worth nearly ₹2 crore to Nandigaruvu village, which has about 40 households.
He said roads are being laid in hill-top villages with support from the Central government to reduce hardships faced by residents, particularly pregnant women who often depend on makeshift transport to reach hospitals.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that several villages in the region still require road connectivity, safe drinking water supply and proper school infrastructure, and assured that the government would complete these works with commitment.
Addressing residents, he said the government does not discriminate based on electoral outcomes. “Whether people voted for us or not, the coalition government works only for the welfare of the people,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan also said he chose to mark the Jana Sena Party’s 13th foundation day in the remote tribal village instead of holding large celebrations elsewhere, describing it as a gesture of solidarity with tribal communities.
During the programme, he interacted with villagers and directed officials to resolve several local issues.
He inspected the Onuru Primary School and instructed authorities to sanction funds for repairs. He also suggested establishing a primary school and an Anganwadi centre in Nandigaruvu village.
Officials were directed to construct magic drains in Narthanapalli and Onuru villages and to address drinking water problems through funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
He also said the issue of restoring Government Order No. 3 would be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister.
State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar, district officials and senior government representatives were present at the programme.
