Telangana” Singareni Skill Centre Facilitates Jobs for 87 women among 112 Youth

Godavarikhani (Telangana), Oct 11 (TNT): Skill development initiatives undertaken by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to provide employment opportunities to unemployed youth from Singareni-affected areas have yielded positive results, with 112 candidates selected for jobs at Foxconn and L&T.

Of the 154 candidates who attended recruitment interviews organised through the Singareni GVTC Skill Development Centre in Ramagundam–1 Area, 87 women were selected for employment at Foxconn’s manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, while 25 men were selected for Solar Technician positions at L&T.

The first batch of 55 women selected for Foxconn left Godavarikhani for Hyderabad on Sunday.

Foxconn conducted special recruitment interviews for women candidates at the GVTC Skill Development Centre last week.

The selected women will work in the assembly sections manufacturing Apple EarPods and electronic components. The opportunities are expected to promote financial independence among women from Singareni-affected areas.

The GVTC Skill Development Centre was launched two years ago by Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka to provide skill training and employment opportunities to local youth.

Since its inception, the centre has facilitated employment for more than 500 candidates by offering training in courses aligned with industry requirements and connecting trainees with prospective employers.

Ramagundam–1 Area General Manager D. Lalith Kumar said 25 candidates trained in the Solar Technician course had been selected for employment and would join L&T within ten days.

He said Singareni management was committed to equipping youth from mining-affected areas with industry-relevant skills and connecting them with suitable employment opportunities.

He advised the selected candidates to make the best use of the opportunities, maintain discipline in the workplace and strive for professional growth.

Srinivas, Foxconn HR representative; Madhava Reddy, GVTC Manager; Shravan Kumar, Senior Personnel Officer; and other officials and staff participated in the programme.

Singareni management said the skill development initiative would continue to focus on providing employment-oriented training and improving livelihood opportunities for youth in mining-affected areas.
