TG SAFE detects irregularities at 111 medical shops in Hyderabad drug enforcement drive
Hyderabad, Oct 6 (TNT): The Drugs Wing of Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) detected discrepancies at 111 medical shops during a special enforcement drive against the illegal sale and diversion of habit-forming drugs in vulnerable areas of Hyderabad on Tuesday.
The raids were conducted at retail medical shops in Charminar, Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki, Malakpet and Goshamahal zones of the CURE region, with the assistance of TG SAFE Enforcement Wing police personnel.
The enforcement teams focused on detecting the illegal sale and diversion of habit-forming drugs, including Tramadol, Tapentadol, Nitrazepam, Pregabalin-containing formulations, Zolpidem and Alprazolam tablets and Codeine-containing cough syrups.
Officials detected discrepancies in 111 medical shops during the inspections and issued show-cause notices for initiating departmental action, including suspension or cancellation of drug licences.
