AP: Maharashtra Dy CM Eknath Shinde visits Puttaparthi, offers prayers

Puttaparthi (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 6 (TNT): Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Prasanthi Nilayam here on Tuesday and offered prayers at the Maha Samadhi of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Shinde was received by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust Managing Trustee R J Rathnakar, who accompanied him during the visit.

Shinde offered prayers at the Maha Samadhi and later visited the Bhajan Hall to seek blessings.

A photograph of Sri Sathya Sai Baba was presented to him as a token of remembrance.

Speaking to Rathnakar, Shinde expressed his appreciation for the peaceful and serene atmosphere at Prasanthi Nilayam.

He was also pleased to meet sevadals from Maharashtra serving at the ashram.

He was informed that nearly 3,500 sevadals from Maharashtra were currently engaged in service activities in and around the ashram.

Shinde appreciated the humanitarian activities undertaken by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust and said Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s message of selfless service provided guidance for leading a meaningful life.

He expressed his desire to return to Prasanthi Nilayam in the future.
