Airtel Business launches IQ Gateway to secure enterprise customer communications
New Delhi, Oct 6 (TNT): Airtel Business on Monday launched Airtel IQ Gateway, a telco-grade network intelligence platform designed to bring multiple enterprise customer communication channels under a single control plane.
The platform integrates SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, voice communications and number verification through silent authentication, enabling enterprises to manage customer communications through a unified platform, Airtel Business said.
The platform is designed to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework and aims to provide enterprises with greater visibility over communication delivery while strengthening protection against fraud.
Airtel Business said enterprises currently manage fragmented communication systems across multiple service providers, with limited visibility into message delivery and exposure to fraudulent activities such as SMS pumping and OTP fraud.
IQ Gateway combines Airtel’s fraud protection capabilities with native integration of its Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) messaging template system, automated switching to backup service providers and intelligent routing across multiple communication channels.
The platform also incorporates Airtel IQ Verify, which uses network, device and usage signals to identify potentially fraudulent account creation and takeover attempts.
Its Silent Authentication capability enables SIM-based verification for login and SIM-binding processes, reducing reliance on OTP messages and helping mitigate risks associated with SIM swaps and social engineering.
Airtel Business CEO Sharat Sinha said secure-by-design customer engagement had become important for enterprises seeking to build trust in digital interactions.
He said the platform would extend Airtel’s network-level fraud prevention capabilities to enterprises and help sectors such as banking, government and logistics strengthen the security and reliability of customer communications.
IQ Gateway can be integrated with existing enterprise communication workflows and vendor ecosystems.
It can either be deployed on an enterprise’s premises or hosted on Airtel’s cloud as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering, depending on customer requirements.
The platform provides a unified dashboard with real-time analytics and network-level delivery reports, enabling enterprises to monitor communications across channels.
Airtel Business said IQ Gateway had undergone trial deployments with select banks, financial institutions and other industry partners before its nationwide launch.
The company said the platform is aimed at helping enterprises reduce fraud-related losses, manage communication infrastructure more efficiently and improve the reliability of customer interactions.
