Telangana CM congratulates archers on Asian Games gold
Hyderabad, Sept 30 (TNT) : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday congratulated Taniparthi Chikitha, Vennam Jyothi Surekha and Prithika Pradeep on winning the gold medal in the women’s compound archery team event at the Asian Games 2026 in Japan.
The Indian women’s compound archery team delivered a sensational performance to beat China and retain the Asian Games gold medal with a world-record score today.
The Indian team comprising Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi, Prithika Pradeep dominated the summit clash, outclassing China 238-234 in the gold medal match to bag the top podium.
In a message, the Chief Minister said the archers’ achievement had brought pride to Telangana and the country, highlighting India’s sporting talent on the international stage.
He said their performance would inspire young athletes to pursue their sporting ambitions with dedication, determination and sportsmanship.
He also wished the trio success in their future competitions.
Revanth Reddy also extended his best wishes to all Indian athletes participating in the Asian Games and congratulated those who had won medals in various disciplines.
He expressed hope that their achievements would encourage more youngsters to take up sports, strive for excellence and represent the country at international events.
