NLC India announces 38.5% dividend for FY26, reports record profit

New Delhi, Sept 30 (TNT): NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal,  announced a total dividend payout of 38.5 per cent amounting to Rs 533.86 crore for the financial year 2025-26, including an interim dividend of 36 per cent.

At its 70th Annual General Meeting held through video conferencing on Tuesday , Chairman-cum-Managing Director Dr Prasanna Kumar Acharya said the company recorded an all-time high consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 3,769 crore, registering a growth of 38.91 per cent over the previous year.

The company reported a consolidated profit before tax of Rs 3,875 crore, up 4.84 per cent, while revenue from operations rose 14.44 per cent to Rs 17,490 crore.

EBITDA reached a record Rs 7,475 crore, marking a growth of 14.78 per cent.

Capital expenditure during the year stood at a record Rs 9,131 crore, while the company’s net worth increased 14.96 per cent to Rs 21,525 crore.

Highlighting operational achievements, Acharya said NLCIL recorded annual coal production of 19.14 million tonnes and dispatch of 17.69 million tonnes from its Talabira-II and III open-cast projects.

The company also generated a record 2.26 billion units of green energy.

Coal production commenced at the Pachwara South Coal Mine, while all three 660 MW units at NUPPL Ghatampur entered full commercial operation.

The group’s renewable energy portfolio expanded to 1,785 MW, the company said.

Acharya outlined the company’s plans to become a diversified energy enterprise, with a target of achieving 20 GW of power capacity and more than 100 million tonnes per annum of mining capacity under its Vision 2047 roadmap.

The strategy includes expanding renewable energy capacity, developing battery energy storage systems and green hydrogen pilot projects, establishing overburden-to-manufactured sand plants, and diversifying into critical minerals.

The AGM also provided an opportunity for shareholders to interact with the CMD, who responded to their queries. The company reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
