MBU, PhysicsWallah partner to strengthen students’ industry readiness
Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Sept 22 (TNT): Mohan Babu University (MBU) on Tuesday announced a partnership with PhysicsWallah’s career-skills platform PW Skills to strengthen students’ transition from academic learning to the workplace.
The collaboration will provide MBU students with industry exposure, practical training and structured career preparation, alongside their academic programmes, the university said in a release.
Under the partnership, students will have access to industry-aligned learning pathways in Data Analytics and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Full Stack Development and Digital Marketing.
The programme will include practical training, projects, exposure to current tools and technologies and sessions led by industry experts.
It will also provide career-readiness support covering soft skills, aptitude, domain-specific and role-specific preparation and interview readiness.
The learning programme will follow a two-teacher mentorship model, with industry experts providing practical exposure and industry context while MBU faculty mentors support students during the learning process on campus. The programme is planned across three semesters alongside the students’ academic journey.
The partnership was announced at an event in Tirupati, where MBU Founder and Chancellor Dr M. Mohan Babu and PhysicsWallah Co-founder Alakh Pandey addressed the gathering.
MBU Pro-Chancellor Vishnu Manchu said the collaboration would provide students with exposure to industry practices and mentorship in areas including artificial intelligence, data and digital technologies.
MBU Executive Director Vinay Maheshwari said employability should be developed throughout a student’s academic journey and that the two-teacher model would bring industry practitioners and faculty mentors together to support students.
PhysicsWallah Co-founder Alakh Pandey said the partnership would bring practical skills and industry exposure closer to students while they were still in college and help them prepare for employment opportunities.
The collaboration comes amid concerns over the gap between higher education and employment.
The university cited the Human Capital for Viksit Bharat report, which put youth employability at 54.8 per cent in 2025, and the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, which said 39 per cent of workers’ existing skill sets were expected to change or become outdated by 2030.
