Tirumala: Kalki Avataram in sand art welcomes devotees to colourfull TTD expo
Tirumala, Sept 15 (TNT): A series of exhibitions organised by various departments of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) at Kalyana Vedika has been attracting devotees during the Srivari Brahmotsavams.
A sand sculpture depicting Sri Maha Vishnu’s Kalki avatar, created by Bengaluru-based sand artist Gowri, has been installed at the entrance of the expo which was inaugurated by TTD Chairman B R Naidu on Tuesday in the presence of TTD Executive Officer M Ravichandra, Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary and CVSO Muralikrishna.
The TTD Garden Department has showcased mythological themes, including Sri Rama, Sita and Lakshmana on a chariot with Hanuman, along with episodes from the four yugas such as Samudra Manthan, Indrajit’s killing by Lakshmana, Sasirekha-Ghatotkacha and Sisupala Vadha.
The Forest Wing has recreated the Seshachala forests with representations of flora and fauna, while the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Traditional Sculpture and Training has displayed wood, cement and rock sculptures.
A photo gallery by the TTD Public Relations Department featuring more than 150 rare photographs, including images of Tirumala and the Alipiri footpath from the 1960s and 1980s to the present, is another attraction.
