Delhi Toofans appoint international coach Fabio Menta as head coach
Delhi, Sept 14 (TNT): Delhi Toofans have appointed internationally experienced coach Fabio Menta as their head coach ahead of the fifth season of the Prime Volleyball League (PVL), the franchise said on Monday.
The appointment comes following the Season 5 player auction and ahead of the league’s scheduled commencement on November 30, 2026.
The upcoming season will be the first PVL edition following its recognition by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) as India’s first-division professional volleyball league.
Menta brings more than two decades of coaching experience across professional clubs, national teams and international development programmes in Europe, Asia and Oceania.
He is a FIVB Level II coach and coach instructor associated with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), FIVB and Oceania Volleyball.
His experience spans indoor and beach volleyball, besides roles as technical director, coach educator and mentor to players and coaches.
His coaching record includes a national championship in the Bahamas, a bronze medal in the Italian Cup and a bronze-medal finish in the Suomen Cup in Finland.
Menta was also part of Creamline’s three-title campaign in the Philippine Pro League in 2025, helped ZUS Coffee secure a silver medal in 2026 and served as tactician for Letran College’s NCAA gold-medal campaign.
Alok Sanghi, Chairman, Resolute Sports, said Menta’s international experience and understanding of high-performance sport would strengthen the team’s preparations and contribute to the development of Indian players.
Menta said he was pleased to join Delhi Toofans and would focus on technical discipline, tactical understanding, physical preparation and building a strong team mentality.
Delhi Toofans reached the PVL final in their debut season in 2024 and finished runners-up.
With the squad now in place, the franchise will focus on building cohesion, sharpening its tactical approach and preparing for the upcoming campaign.
