Singareni Inaugurates 1.23 MW Rooftop Solar Plants at Kothagudem
Kothagudem, Aug 14 (TNT) : Singareni Collieries Chairman and Managing Director Dr Buddha Prakash Jyoti, on Friday inaugurated 1.23 MW rooftop solar power plants installed on company buildings within the Singareni Corporate Area at Kothagudem.
During the inauguration ceremony held at the Singareni Head Office, a 100 KW rooftop solar plant installed on the main building was formally connected to the grid.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Buddha Prakash Jyoti said Singareni, traditionally known as a coal-producing company, was expanding its presence in the thermal, solar and floating solar power sectors as part of its business diversification initiatives.
He said the company had already installed 245.5 MW of solar power capacity at various vacant sites within its premises as part of its eco-friendly initiatives alongside coal and thermal power operations.
He added that additional solar power plants would be established in accordance with the directives of the Central and Telangana governments to contribute to national and state energy requirements.
The CMD said rooftop solar systems were also being installed on company buildings and expressed satisfaction over the commissioning of the 1.23 MW rooftop solar capacity in the Corporate Area.
Director (Operations) L V Suryanarayana, Director (Projects & Planning) K Venkateswarlu, Director (E&M) M Thirumala Rao, senior officials, representatives of recognised and status unions, employees and other representatives attended the programme.
