68.30% Voter Mapping Completed Across Telangana for SIR-2026
Hyderabad, June 2 (TNT): As part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 exercise, voter mapping across Telangana has reached 68.30 per cent completion, Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy informed during a review meeting conducted by Election Commission of India (ECI) officials in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
The review was led by ECI Principal Secretary Avinash Kumar and Under Secretary Sanjay Kumar.
Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana, C. Sudharsan Reddy, briefed the officials on the status of Assembly constituency-wise preparations, deployment of manpower including EROs, AEROs, Booth Level Officer (BLO) Supervisors and BLOs, and the establishment of help desks.
ECI officials made a detailed presentation on the Special Intensive Revision process, explaining the relevant provisions of the Constitution, the Representation of the People Act, 1950, and the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
The presentation covered key stages including enumeration (online and offline), draft publication of electoral rolls, filing and disposal of claims and objections, issuance of notices, and final publication of the rolls.
Officials emphasised the need for vigilance while collecting and processing enumeration forms and directed extensive publicity for online submission through the official voter services portal.
They also highlighted the “Book a Call” facility that enables voters to obtain quick information regarding the SIR process. District Election Officers were instructed to conduct regular all-party meetings and ensure active participation of Booth Level Agents (BLAs).
The review meeting was attended by Additional CEO Vasam Venkateswar Reddy, Joint CEO M. Satyavani, GHMC Commissioner and District Election Officer R.V. Karnan, Collector and District Election Officer M. Manu Chowdary, Additional Secretary and State Media Nodal Officer N. Shankar, Deputy CEO (FAC) G.S. Chary, and State Nodal Officers B. Chennaiah, N. Prasunamba and Chiranjeevi.
During an interactive session, ECI officials clarified various technical and administrative issues raised by the attending EROs and AEROs, aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the Special Intensive Revision exercise across Telangana.
