ZF CVCS India Secures ESC Orders from Three Commercial Vehicle Makers
Chennai, July 28 (TNT): ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems (CVCS) India has secured business nominations from three leading commercial vehicle manufacturers in India for its ESCsmart™ Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system ahead of the country’s upcoming truck safety regulations.
The multi-year orders cover truck platforms based on both 24V and 12V electrical architectures, with production scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2027. All systems will be assembled and supplied from the company’s manufacturing facilities in India, the company said in a release here on Tuesday.
The announcement comes ahead of the implementation of the Automotive Industry Standards (AIS), under which Electronic Stability Control will become mandatory for trucks from October 1, 2027.
The company said the new regulations are expected to accelerate the adoption of advanced vehicle stability technologies in the commercial vehicle sector.
ZF said its ESCsmart™ system is designed to improve vehicle stability by automatically intervening during critical driving situations to reduce the risk of rollovers, skidding and jack-knifing. The technology has already been deployed in more than 60,000 vehicles in India and is backed by over two decades of ESC expertise and more than three million systems supplied globally.
ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Managing Director Paramjit Singh Chadha said the business nominations reflect the growing adoption of advanced active safety technologies as the domestic commercial vehicle industry prepares for stricter safety regulations.
He said the company is well-positioned to support manufacturers through its local engineering, validation and manufacturing capabilities.
