WORLD BICYCLE DAY 2026 MEGA CYCLING EVENTS TO BE HELD IN THREE CITIES ON JUNE 7

Hyderabad, June 6 (TNT): The 9th edition of the World Bicycle Day Mega Cycling Events will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, simultaneously in Hyderabad, Chandigarh and New Delhi, with over 5,000 cycling enthusiasts expected to participate across the three cities.

The event is being jointly organised by SmartBike Mobility Pvt. Ltd. and the Hyderabad Bicycling Club, in association with the World Cycling Alliance, Brussels, Sports Authority of India and FIT India.

In a release on Saturday,Organisers said the event aims to promote cycling as a sustainable, healthy and inclusive mode of transport.

The celebrations mark the continuation of World Bicycle Day initiatives launched in India in 2018.

According to organisers, Hyderabad will host the largest participation with around 2,500 cyclists, followed by Chandigarh with 2,000 participants and New Delhi with about 5,000 cyclists.

In Hyderabad, the ride will be flagged off from the SmartBike Hub at Narsingi on the Outer Ring Road cycling track, with former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu expected to attend as chief guest.

The Chandigarh edition will be held at the Government Museum and Art Gallery, while the New Delhi event will take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India, MyBharat and the Ministry of Ayush.

The initiative has grown into one of India’s largest cycling movements, promoting sustainable urban mobility and public fitness awareness across major cities, the organisers added.
