TTD prioritises devotee services, temple development and Sanatana Dharma : Chairman
Tirupati, Aug 15 (TNT): TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu on Saturday said Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) would accelerate development initiatives and strengthen devotee services while giving priority to the preservation and propagation of Sanatana Dharma.
Addressing the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the TTD Administrative Building Parade Ground here after unfurling the National Flag and receiving the Guard of Honour, Naidu said serving devotees from across the world was TTD’s primary mission.
He said TTD was also according priority to education, healthcare and religious services and working to spread the glory of Lord Venkateswara globally.
Naidu said the annual Srivari Brahmotsavams would be held from September 15 to 23 and Navaratri Brahmotsavams from October 12 to 20. Elaborate arrangements would be made for devotees to have smooth darshan and witness Vahana Sevas, besides organising cultural programmes representing different parts of the country.
A modern Annaprasadam kitchen would be established at a cost of Rs.120 crore with donor support to provide hygienic and quality food to lakhs of devotees, he said.
To promote Tirumala as an eco-friendly spiritual destination, 32 additional electric buses would be introduced with donor support, taking the total fleet of electric buses to 44, Naidu said.
The Tirumala SV Museum, being developed at a cost of Rs.145 crore with donor support, would soon showcase the services, festivals and rare jewellery associated with Lord Venkateswara through advanced 3D and 7D presentations, he said.
He said special focus was being given to the development of Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple at Vontimitta, including pilgrim amenities, accommodation, electrical decorations and land acquisition.
TTD was expediting construction of Srivari temples in Coimbatore, Guwahati, Khammam, Belagavi, Mumbai and Bihar. The Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Amaravati was also being developed at a cost of Rs.140 crore with facilities including a Mahagopuram, Pushkarini and Vahana Mandapam.
Steps were being taken to improve facilities at Tiruchanur, Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple and other TTD temples, he said.
Financial assistance under the Dhoopa, Deepa and Naivedyam scheme for eligible temples across the State had been increased from Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000 in accordance with government guidelines, Naidu said.
TTD was implementing a transparent and unified privilege system for donors contributing to its trusts and schemes. He thanked donors for contributing more than Rs.1,500 crore to various TTD trusts over the past two years.
An action plan had been prepared to strengthen Srivari Seva at 64 local and affiliated TTD temples, while medical services were also being expanded in TTD hospitals, he said.
TTD educational institutions were being developed as world-class centres at a cost of Rs.161.40 crore, with modern infrastructure and emphasis on Indian culture, moral values and discipline. A total of 147 meritorious Class X and Intermediate students had recently been honoured with Pratibha Puraskarams.
Medical facilities at SVIMS, BIRRD and other hospitals in Tirupati were being strengthened. The Sri Padmavati Super Speciality Hospital for children would soon provide advanced healthcare services, while recruitment had been undertaken in various departments of SVIMS to improve patient care.
Naidu said TTD was promoting Sanatana Dharma through religious projects and Veda-Bhakti programmes and supporting 791 Vedic scholars under the Veda Parayanam scheme. Daily Vedic recitations were also being encouraged at temples across the State.
As part of employee welfare, the “Yoga–TTD Arogyanand” programme was conducted for 14 days at 17 centres in Tirupati to promote physical fitness and mental well-being among employees and students.
For the first time in TTD history, 280 employees who retired between January 1 and July 31, 2026, were honoured at Mahati Kalakshetra on July 31 in recognition of their service.
Naidu said TTD would take strict legal action against false propaganda that hurt the sentiments of devotees and sought to protect their faith and confidence.
He congratulated TTD Vigilance and Security personnel for the Independence Day parade and prayed for peace and prosperity across the world.
