Tirupati: Ankurarpanam Performed for Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple Pavitrotsavams
Tirupati, Aug. 7 (TNT): The Ankurarpanam ritual marking the commencement of the annual Pavitrotsavams at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple here was performed in accordance with Agama traditions on Friday evening.
As part of the rituals, Senadhipati Utsavam, Medhini Puja, Mrutsangrahanam and Ankurarpanam were conducted.
The three-day Pavitrotsavams, to be held from August 8 to 10, are observed annually as a ritual of purification to atone for any inadvertent lapses that may have occurred in the conduct of the temple’s daily rituals and worship.
According to the schedule, Pavitra Pratishtha and Sayanadhivasa will be performed in the Yagasala on August 8, followed by Pavitra Samarpana and other Vedic rituals on August 9. The festival will conclude with Purnahuti on August 10.
TTD Joint Executive Officer Dr. A. Sharath, Deputy Executive Officer Ms. Nagaratna, Superintendent K. Srinivasulu Reddy, Chief Priest Anand Kumar Dikshitulu, Temple Inspectors Suresh Babu and Harikrishna, along with priests, Srivari Sevaks and devotees, participated in the ceremony.
