Three-day BRICS Trade Union Forum Summit in Hyderabad from July 14

Hyderabad, July 11(TNT): Hyderabad will host the BRICS Trade Union Forum (TUF) Summit 2026 from July 14 to 16, bringing together trade union leaders, policymakers, labour experts and delegates from 14 BRICS countries to deliberate on key issues relating to labour, social security, technology and the future of work.

The three-day international forum is being organised by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) as part of India’s BRICS Chairship for 2026.

India assumed the BRICS Chairship on January 1, 2026, succeeding Brazil, and has been hosting a series of ministerial and sectoral meetings during the year.

Around 50 international delegates representing trade union organisations from 14 BRICS countries and nearly 70 delegates from India, including representatives of central trade unions, employers’ organisations, labour experts, academicians and researchers, are expected to participate in the summit, according to Forum.

The forum will provide a platform for discussions on workers’ welfare, social justice, decent work, technological transformation, labour rights, skill development, universal social security and international cooperation, with the aim of strengthening collaboration among BRICS nations.

Key themes of the summit include universalisation of social security and international portability, women and the future of work, the role of trade unions in driving skills for the future, and human-centric technology and responsible governance of artificial intelligence in the workplace.

The organisers said the deliberations are expected to result in recommendations for building an inclusive, sustainable and human-centred future of work while promoting solidarity and cooperation among trade unions of BRICS countries.

The summit will be inaugurated at 10 a.m. on July 14 at the VAYU Courtyard Meeting Hall, Hyderabad Marriott Hotel, Tank Bund.

A Workers’ Confluence, themed “From Shopfloor to Summit – The Workforce Leads the Way”, will be held at 5.45 p.m. the same day at RTC Kalyana Mandapam near VST Junction.
