Three Construction Workers Killed, Eight Injured in road accident in Kakinada Dist.

Kakinada, June 23(TNT): Three construction workers were killed and eight others injured when a Bolero goods vehicle in which they were travelling overturned on the ADB Road between Vadisaleru and Rangampeta in Rangampeta mandal of Kakinada district in the early hours of Tuesday, police said.

The workers were returning to their native places in Kakinada district after completing a construction assignment at Kolluru in Bapatla district when the accident occurred.

According to preliminary investigations, the mishap was caused by the bursting of a rear tyre, resulting in the driver losing control of the vehicle.

The deceased were identified as Masakapalli Babu, Muramalla Raju and Kakada Raju, all residents of Samalkot.

The injured were identified as Maneddi Kanna, Viswanathula Satyanarayana, Masakapalli Nagaraju, Martha Bhagya Raju, Indugapalli Ramana, K. Prasad and Anand. Police said one more worker also sustained injuries in the accident.

All the injured were shifted to the Area Hospital at Peddapuram for treatment and are reported to be out of danger.

The victims were engaged in ready-mix wall construction work and were transporting construction materials in the vehicle while returning home.

The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the Government General Hospital (GGH), Rajamahendravaram, for post-mortem examination.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
