Thousands of devotees take holy dip during Chakra Snana at Tirumala
Tirumala, Sept 23 (TNT): Thousands of devotees took a holy dip in the sacred waters of Swamy Pushkarini during the Chakra Snana Mahotsavam, the last major event of the nine-day annual Srivari Brahmotsavams, at Tirumala on Wednesday morning.
Earlier, the anthropomorphic form of Srivaru, Sudarshana Chakrattalwar, along with the processional deities of Sri Malayappa Swamy and Sridevi and Bhudevi, was rendered the auspicious Snapana Tirumanjanam amid the chanting of divine mantras and performance of a series of rituals.
Later, Chakrattalwar was immersed in the holy waters of Swamy Pushkarini as part of the sacred ritual. Thousands of devotees waiting for the auspicious occasion also took a holy dip in the Pushkarini, chanting “Govinda… Govinda” with devotion.
Speaking on the occasion, TTD Executive Officer M. Ravi Chandra and Additional Executive Officer C.H. Venkaiah Chowdary thanked TTD employees, police personnel, Srivari Sevaks and devotees for their cooperation in the successful conduct of the annual Brahmotsavams.
