The move to Hyderabad marks TPL’s expansion into a new market after Season 7 was held in Ahmedabad.
The league said its TPL App currently connects with more than 400 affiliated academies across the country.
Kia India has joined the league as the Exclusive Partner for Season 8.
TPL Co-Founder Kunal Thakkur said the Hyderabad edition and the partnership with Kia India marked a significant chapter in the league’s growth.
Co-Founder Mrunal Jain said the league’s move to Hyderabad was aimed at reaching new audiences and expanding its national footprint.
Kia India Senior Vice President-Sales and Marketing Atul Sood said the partnership would help bring the company’s global association with tennis closer to Indian audiences.
Telangana Special Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development and Sports Department, Jayesh Ranjan, said Hyderabad’s growing reputation as a destination for major sporting leagues would provide a platform for the development of tennis in the state.
TPL has completed seven seasons and focuses on developing tennis through its professional league, grassroots tournaments and digital platform. The league also runs initiatives such as the Race to Gold Scholarship to identify and nurture tennis talent.
