Telangana’s Singareni invites applications for Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme
Hyderabad, July 12 (TNT): Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) will provide financial assistance of ₹1 lakh each to eligible Telangana candidates who have qualified in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination this year and are preparing for the Main Examination under the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme.
SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Dr Buddhaprakash Jyoti said the scheme would continue this year following directions from the State Government.
Eligible candidates have been invited to submit applications online, and financial assistance will be provided after verification of applications.
Candidates can visit the SCCL website for detailed guidelines and the application process.
Dr Jyoti expressed hope that more aspirants from Telangana would utilise the support and achieve success in the Civil Services Examination, enabling them to serve the State and the nation.
The scheme was launched in 2024 by the State Government as part of SCCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to encourage more youth from Telangana to pursue Civil Services careers.
During the 2024 Civil Services Examination cycle, 140 preliminary exam qualifiers received ₹1 lakh each under the scheme.
Of them, 20 candidates reached the interview stage, and seven were finally selected for the Civil Services. Last year, 206 aspirants received financial assistance, with 50 qualifying for the interview stage and 20 securing final selection.
Overall, 346 Civil Services aspirants have benefited from the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme during the last two years, SCCL said.
